Abstract: Images of the 1958 National Eisteddfod of Wales at Ebbw Vale, including images of D. Emlyn Lewis in the literature tent (E58/040-041), participants in the recital for Welsh learners (E58/042), the cast and crew of "Teulu'r Mans" congratulating the winner of the chair, D. Llewelyn Jones (E58/043), Pamela Davies of Wrexham winner of the over 21 folk song competition (E58/044), Amy Parry-Williams (E58/045), musicians from Aberdare (E58/046), a choir from Ammanford (E58/047), Shirley Richards who is blind (E58/048), Saunders Lewis on the stage (E58/049), a ladies choir from Aberporth (E58/050), harpist Buddug Davies of Aberporth (E58/051), the recital party from Denbigh Grammar School (E58/052), Dotwen Williams of Penrhyndeudraeth competing on stage (E58/053), Telynores Eryri and Dilys Wynne Williams in their Gorsedd outfits (E58/055) and a 'Qualiton Records' display to celebrate the opening of Qualiton Records' factory in Pontardawe (E58/056).

Computer file. Aberystwyth : National Library of Wales, 2000-2002 (Geoff Charles digitisation project) Original, master file captured in uncompressed TIFF format. Minimal tonal adjustments using levels and curves in PhotoShop. Master files archived as pc format TIFFS. On-screen display files resized and adjusted for viewing on gamma 2.2 monitors in PhotoShop and saved in JPEG format. 18 image files; Heidelberg Nexscan F4100 capture device using Linocolor v6.0.4 software. Filter settings: light contour-0.5, dark countour-0.5, smoothnes-0.6, countour width-1.0, scan spot size-4.0. Target resolution for hi-res capture was 300dpi at a factor of 450% resulting in +/- 6000 x 5000 pixels; screen res:+/- 600 x 500 pixels at 72dpi; screen-res and thumbnail copies use jpeg compression at setting: 7 in Adobe Photoshop v6.0; 8 bit grayscale; hi-res TIFFs: Gray Gamma 1.8 icc profile embedded.
