Abstract: Images of railway workers lifting a smashed footbridge off the main line between Oswestry and Welshpool in Buttington Station. Rail traffic was disrupted for 30 hours as a result of a double accident, in which two men lost their lives and others were injured, when one railway bridge had to be closed and another was wrecked and the foreman of the steam crane that tore away the bridge also later died of injuries received during the clear-up operation.
